Apparently I haven’t had much to say lately! I just haven’t felt like blogging much lately, I am sure that will change soon enough and I will be back to boring everyone with the details of our not so fascinating life.
Matt and I actually had a very busy weekend painting. I promise to blog more about it later and add pictures. Let’s just say our master bedroom went through a major transformation. I have a couple more things that I want to finish up before I take some after pictures.
Now for updates on Cutting the Crap, Buying Nothing, and Holding Out.
Matt and I have both been cutting a lot of crap out of our lives. We both had our own closets filled with stuff. Mine had craft items and miscellaneous things I thought I could use and his had office supplies, portfolio pieces, and print samples. Also our new guest bedroom still had the remnants of Matt’s old office, a few things that needed moved, some that needed recycled, stuff that needed to find a new home, and crap we just don’t need. I am proud to say that both closets and the guest bedroom are looking much better. We are now moving onto the office/den where some of the stuff we sorted through needs to go, but we need to sort through the stuff in the office and organize it before we add new stuff to the mix. We are planning on redoing this space so it can become a more functional area for us and for Tom and Jerry when they get here. (That would be our home project for the month of May!) We also cleaned out and organized the pantry and now have an idea of what we need to use up before it goes bad. I cleaned up the bathroom cabinets last week, it was a very messy, cluttered area and I am happy to say it is much cleaner now. Matt is continuing to make progress in the garage (after all we might someday need to fit a minivan in there). I think we both feel lighter with all the cleaning/organizing we have done. I know I feel a lot better!
We have done okay with Buying Nothing. We both caved and bought something. I bought this cute yellow Sigg for Tom or Jerry and Matt bought a tire for his mountain bike. Who knew we weren’t perfect?
We are still holding out and have not turned on the a/c. I will say I was tempted last night because it was a little warm in here when we went to bed and I felt like being cool, but I didn’t give in to my temptation. There is only a couple more days left in April! Of course, I want to see how long we can go without it. Thanks for all the comments on your a/c settings. It is fun to hear what everyone does.
